'Looking forward to it' I respond to the surprise with a grin as I finish my second slice. Grabbing a third slice that I might not finish I take a bite before responding to the promotion question. 'No, I'm not a supervisor. Corporal is just a rank handed out to those with a specific skill or to reward senior deputies for their good service. Guess you can guess which category I fall under.' Finished with my answer I take another bite.

Seeing Allen write the summons and release the woman I head back to 206 where I get back into the driver's seat "ERT, 206, show me clear"

'Oh, I don't know. Anywhere is fine, surprise me' Speaking with a grin I look down at my pizza slice and take another bite once I'm done talking.

Meeting up with mall security I see they have the woman apprehended. As Allen deals with the woman I ask one of the other guards to see the security videos as well as to get a copy made. The guard agrees and takes me to where their security monitors are. As they play the video for me I watch the woman on screen as she starts taking stuff from Sephora. When the video ends I turn to the guard. 'Alright, still need that copy and are you pressing charges?' 'Making it now and yes, we are.' 'Okay' Receiving the copy of the video I head out of the mall and meet up with Allen. 'I have the copy of the video showing her taking stuff. They are pressing charges so write her a summons and let her go.'

'and here he is' I remark as Hill enters the room 'Greetings Hill, this is Corporal Wentz, he'll be the one in charge of training you this shift. Wentz, this is Hill, you'll be training him.'

'Yeah, I did, we've got a new probie coming in shortly. Should be here soon. Just giving you a heads up that we'll be assigning you to train him.'

As Mark talks and appears to start texting somebody I finish off my first slice and grab another. 'Well, let's hope nothing happens then and your shift remains unchanged. Also good, we have a date.' Finished speaking I take a bite off the next slice.

'Usual suspects sound good.' Taking another bite off my slice I nod and chew up the bit until I'm ready to swallow. 'Sounds like a nice easy shift then' Smiling I take another bite.

After I finish my first bite I give my response. 'Yeah, nothing particularly interesting, just the standard harassment of the freely traveling who were endangering others with their speeding and running of stop sings and red lights.' Taking another bite from the slice I chew it up a little bit. 'Absolutely, we should go out somewhere nice tomorrow. Assuming we can find someone to watch Luke though.'

Hearing a request for a progress report I key up my radio to give it. "Ladder 1, Command, venting is progress"

'Oh I see, just for today. Well, it's not a competition however my promotion is permanent' I respond as I take a slice out of the box. 'Shift so far has been alright. Fight at the library that got wrapped up before I could get there. Otherwise it's just been traffic stops. How's your shift been so far?' After asking my question I take a bite off the slice.

As my crew goes up I start pacing a bit as I keep my eyes on them. They get up there but then I see Valentine come down because he forgot his helmet. Oh for fucks sake, I think to myself as I sigh. Should probably say something to him but we need to get to work but I make a note to chirp something at him later. Seeing Valentine go back up I look around to see if anyone caught that shit before going back to watching my crew getting to work.

After picking up the pizza in Oxnard and driving on over to Station 1 I park 206 in an empty parking spot. Opening the door I grab the pizza box off the empty passenger seat and exit the vehicle. Shutting the door I head on into the fire station while I call myself going out of service for a dinner break. "206, out of service, dinner break" Letting go of the mic I navigate myself to the Platoon Chief's office where Mark said he'd be. Seeing the door wide open I just head on in. 'Oh, so I'm dating a Fire Chief now?' I remark with a smirk as I place the pizza box down on his desk and open it up as I sit down. 'Hope your hungry for a supreme from Queen's Pizzeria'

Pulling up on scene I park behind 201 and get out after shutting off the vehicle. "206 on scene" Entering the mall I catch up to Allen as he looks to hook up with the security officer in charge here. 'You want to talk with the suspect as I review the tapes on this?'

"206, show me responding" Well, it's in Oxnard and that's where I'm heading anyways. Might as well do this before getting dinner I think to myself as I drive non-emergent to the mall. They've already got the suspect so yeah, no reason for lights or sirens on this. All we'll be doing is reviewing what happened and taking the suspect from them if they decide to press charges.

Well this was unexpected. Certainly unsure how to feel about this. Well definitely not unhappy being promoted. "Thank you Sirs" Taking my new insignias from the Captain I shake his hand and then I hear him talk about a photoshoot to which I mentally sigh.

With Commissioner Burke entering the office I give him a nod hello and respond to his question. 'Yes sir, that is correct.' Looking around I can only think to myself that my office is getting pretty crowded now. Nonetheless, seeing that everyone is here I look to Russo and then back to the deputies in the room. 'Alright, you might be wondering why we've asked you here. With due respect to your years of service within the department and with your records to show for it. The department has decided that effective immediately all three of you. Deputy O'Reilly, Deputy Hawke, and Deputy Wagner. Are to be promoted to the rank of Corporal. Congratulations'

Noting that O'Reilly is in the room I give him a nod and then turn back to Russo. 'You want to tell them or shall I? I have to go talk to one of the IA guys in a few minutes.'

Seeing the Captain enter the room I give a nod. "Sir, welcome"

Seeing Hawke arrive followed by Wagner and his probie I listen to him ask a question about whether she can stay or not. 'She can stay if she wants. We're going to wait until O'Reilly gets here before I tell you why I have asked you here.'

Hearing I've been called to the Lieutenant's office I head on over. Knocking on the wide open door I enter the room. He also called Wagner and O'Reilly here so I'm guessing whatever this is about will have to wait until their arrival. Fuck I hope this isn't about the call at the library.

Sitting in my office I think it's time to just get this over with as I make calls to get O'Reilly, Hawke, and Wagner into my office. Unsure if Russo will be here for what's going to happen but I figure he'll come if he wants to.

With it almost being time for guests to start arriving I exit the bedroom dressed up as the witch I decided to be this year. Luke is sound asleep in his room and I hope the party does not get too loud to wake him up. As I enter the living room I look the food that is all set for everyone to eat with the exception of the pizza that hasn't arrived yet. Well the pizza should be here shortly so I'm not worried. There's no Pizza Hut in Kimberly so we had to order from Crescent Falls; it's not that long of a trip but it does take some time. Decorations are all set up with fake cobwebs and various other Halloween decorations such as ghost and flying bats. Not much else to do now but wait as I head on outside to the porch that is lit up by special light-bulbs that make the area glow in purple. ----------------------- Hawke's costume for reference -----------------------
