NO TEST - INFORMATION ONLY. PLEASE REVIEW.

Welcome to the ERT RPG. This post will cover the basics of roleplaying emergency service workers, which will be helpful in playing the technical side of this game. Remember, the ERT isn't just about handling emergencies, but about telling those people's stories as well. Think of us like a TV drama, you're the writer and the producer, and we're here to help.

When you have technical questions, pop into our discord: https://discord.gg/gHS9CwF There's plenty of real world emergency service workers, as well as site regulars who can gladly help you through it all. For quickest help, post your question in #technical-discussion for the quickest response

  • Radio Chatter
    • By far, the most important piece of equipment for almost any emergency service worker. Their radio. This lets them keep in touch with dispatch, their colleagues and other agencies.
    • Report in when you're responding, when you've arrived, as well as any updates on scene, such as patient status or arrests, even if you need backup. All units are sent by dispatch, so reporting what's happening is essential.
  • Equipment and tools
    • Every one of our emergency vehicles is equipped with tools designed to handle emergencies. While in real life, you'd be expected to know every one of these inside and out, for here, that's why we have advisors. Ask questions, go with the flow and do what seems right.
  • Units, Resources and Commands
    • Depending on your day's assignment you can be alone, with a partner, or part of a team. As a single member unit, such as a fast response car or sheriff's car, you're responsible to report everything yourself. When you've got a partner, you can share that load. With a team though, such as a fire engine, there's going to be an assigned leader, usually a lieutenant or captain, these people will give the orders and lead their team.
