The unidentified assailant then turned around and shot Pivernick once he was down he saw D'Amato attempt to call 911 and he shot her 3 times in the abdomen. The security camera in the parking lot shows him fleeing in a dark color Chrysler LeBaron. Bill Pivernick and Angelina D'Amato were both born in Oxnard and had promising lives ahead of them. As a Father, I mourn with their families. As a Law Enforcement officer I promise to bring the person who did this to justice." Coworkers familiar with the victims said that they were always joking around and made work fun. Pivernick's Mother, Linda Pivernick said "My son was smart intelligent person and all he was trying to do was better himself When this piece of garbage shot him for trying to protect his friend." D'Amato's family declined comment.
