4. Dress Code for Plain Clothes

Detectives are required to wear business attire while on duty. A uniform allowance check will be issued in the month of December for maintenance and upkeep. If duties require field work or active enforcement work where business attire is inappropriate detectives may use personal clothing suitable for the assignment.

All detectives are issued windbreakers with SCSD on the back in reflective lettering and an embroidered badge on the front

When performing policing duties they are required to wear their badge on the outermost layer of clothing. Anytime a firearm is carried visibly, a badge must also be displayed

Members at or above the rank of Captain may elect to wear plain clothes in lieu of a uniform.
