Parks Oxnard has one central park, with woodland surround city limits and a pier-front quay along the river. Oxnard Central Park is located behind city hall, with Park Street running through it. Pedestrian paths string the park, creating a loop around the pond, which park street bridge runs over. At this park are numerous playgrounds, restrooms, a basketball court, tennis court and baseball field. Several war monuments exist, including a statue for both the Civil War and Revolutionary War, as well as a monument wall listing all named victims of the World Wars, and Vietnam War. Like Fort Shannon the zones towards the southern part of the city are high density, with the western section being for commercial use, and eastern portion designated as high density residential. High rise offices are zoned as far east as Meadowlark Drive, where they give way to High density residential. Beyond the Oxnard downtown core, the majority of residences in Oxnard are single or two family dwellings, with strip malls and low density commercial circling Oxnard Central Park. Emergency Agencies serving this area Fire Service is provided by the Shiloh County Fire Department. SCFD Does not provide EMS services as a first response location. EMS Ambulance transport is handled by AMR. Law Enforcement is the responsibility of the Shiloh County Sheriff's Department, having recently absorbed the Oxnard Police Department.
