Afterwards i made the call for you and first responders from station 2 and they never showed, Once Jacobowski got back in here he set up the Lucas and took over breathing well i check the medicine cabinet for anything that might lead us to possible heart issues like Nitro, Didn't locate anything so i came back out hooked up our monitor where it confirmed what we already knew, shocked him once started compression's again did a pulse check and didn't locate anything monitor advised shock again so we shocked him again, and on the third time you walked in and now we are here LT'

ENGINE 1, LADDER 1, MEDIC 1, EMS O-1, RESPOND TO MEDICAL CALL WITH ENTRAPMENT, NORTH 1st ST, area of library, FEMALE BICYCLIST FALLEN OFF TRAIL, POSSIBLE LEG INJURY, TRAPPED IN RIVER MUD.
"Uh, Aylward! I've got a weird one"
"What's the call?"
"Fell off a bicycle, probably broke her leg. But she's down by the River, it's stuck in the mud. Not a high angle, not really a tech, but it's gonna need hands on."
"Okay, let's go, squad and a ladder, no need to tie up the rescue unless you think it's a tech."
"No. Not a tech rescue. But it's in 1's area, and Squad is out on another call."
"Okay, do Engine and Ladder. And give the captain a call when he's on the way. And send the EMS officer car. It's a weird one for sure."

OB/GYN Emergency
Started by R. Martin ·
MEDIC 2. OB/GYN EMERGENCY. 889 COURT AVENUE, APARTMENT 529, FORT SHANNON. CROSS STREET OF EIGHT ST.
Time:1912 Weather: Clear
The 911 line rings, and I hit the button to answer. I copy the ANI/ALI phone number over as I speak.
'Shiloh County 911, what's the address of your emergency?'
'889 Court Avenue, Apartment 529.'
I input the address as I ask the next question.
'Do you need police, fire, or paramedics?'
'I need an ambulance, I'm bleeding down there and my stomach is hurting so much I can barely move.'
'OK ma'am, tell me your name and tell me exactly what happened.'
'My name is Ashley. My dad told me to tell you if I ever need 911 he's a sheriff's captain and my boyfriend is a deputy. I'm pregnant and I'm bleeding.'
'OK, Ashley, your dad is a sheriff's captain? Do you want us to tell him?'
People always thought they'd get better service if they claimed their dad was a captain or the chief or some shit like that. I hate the public.
'I want you to send me someone faster because he's a captain!'
There it was. This lady probably wasn't even actually related to anyone in SD.
'OK, ma'am. They're coming as quick as they can. How old are you?'
'21.'
'How many weeks pregnant are you?'
'Nine weeks.'
I don't bother asking the serious bleeding question and just mark it as serious. People hated that question and she had already said she was bleeding pretty good. It codes out and I press the send button so it'll get sent to a dispatcher to put it out on the radio.
'Is this your first pregnancy?'
'Yes.'
'OK ma'am, the paramedics on the way to help you now. Stay on the line with me and listen to the instructions I have for you. Remain calm and rest comfortably. If you're able, unlock the door and put away any pets. The paramedics are on the way. If anything changes or you get worse in any way, call us back immediately.'
I exit the EMD system and decide to find out if she was being serious about her dad before I disconnect.
'You said your boyfriend and your dad work for the sheriff's office, do you want us to call them for you?'
If the boyfriend wasn't there, then he was probably on duty right? Made sense to me. If he was even real.
'Call my boyfriend. His name is Ricky O'Reilly. He's on duty right now.'
Oh shit, he's real. Surprise surprise.
'OK ma'am, I'll call him for you. I'm going to disconnect now okay?'
She acknowledges, and I disconnect the line. I quickly key in the call notes that the patient is a captain's daughter and a deputy's boyfriend. That certainly sounded like some juicy drama in the sheriff's department. I wish I knew more about it, I bet the tension at work is insane. I start looking up the deputy's info to notify him.

Pumped Up Kicks

'911, where's your emergency'
'Someone just got shot!'
'Where?'
'In the parking lot. Oh god, he is coming this way.'
'Sir, where exactly are you? I need your address!'
'I think I'm dead.'
Hearing a gunshot on the other end followed by sounds of what I can assume is the phone and the caller dropping.
'Sir, are you there? Sir?'
Not getting a response, I start tracing the call for the location. Hearing more gunshots in the background over the still active line I realize we may have something bad going on here.
'Hello? Are you still there? Hello?!'
More gunshots can be heard on the other end so I prepare to activiate the ASTF as I look to Goodricht and other dispatchers. Before any other sound comes through the line goes dead. I immediately dial the supervisor's extension and get Aylward.
'Sir, I think we have an active shooter here. Anyone else have similar reports of gunshots in Oxnard? I couldn't get an exact address. ALI just gives me a tower by the arena. Working a trace now.'

MEDIC 22, RESPOND 82234 LAFFERTY AVE APT 219/NORTH SEVENTH- ERT - SICK PERSON BLS. 08:48.
I finish my last drip of frosting. My soul now feels like there's a piece missing from it. I guess I'll fill it with the small piece of cinnamon roll I have left.
As I sit there, I wonder why they always seem to pass me up for promotion.
*A call comes in*
*Clicks to answer*
It's all politics Jim. They don't promote or award you because it's all a political game. You're the best at what you do, so it must be political. Big Jim ain't kissing no one's rear end to get ahead.
Me (breathing heavily): '911, what's your emergency?'
Caller: 'I need an ambulance to 8-2-2-3-4 Lafferty...apartment 219 for my mawmaw'
Me (breathing heavily in a monotone voice): '...and what is the nature of your emergency?'
Caller: 'She's been throwing up all night and all day.'
Me: 'How old is she?'
Caller: '83'
Me (monotone): 'Is she conscious?'
Caller: 'Yes'
Me (monotone): 'Is she breathing?'
Caller: 'uhh...yes.'
Me (monotone): 'Does she have any chest pain *takes a bite of cinnamon roll* or difficulty breathing?'
Caller: 'No.'
Me: 'Hold please.'
"Medic 22 please respond to an 83 year old female for vomiting. 82234 Lafferty Avenue, apartment 219, cross of North seventh. Medic 22 8:48"
Me: '...what do you think she got sick from?'
Caller: 'Well, the last place she ate I think was Famous Pete's Pizza. I think it's food poisoning.'
*I sit forward in my chair, taking extreme interest.*
Me: 'Which Famous Pete's are we talking about? Famous Pete's, The Original Famous Pete's, or The Official Original Famous Pete's...because there's a huge difference'
Caller: 'Well...I don't see how this matters right now...I just need an ambulance.'
Me: 'I've got an ambulance coming, s don't worry...While they all might sound the same, they're actually all quite different places.'
Caller: 'Ummm......'
Me: '...because contrary to popular belief, plain old Famous Pete's isn't the true Famous Pete's...it was actually opened in 1986 after The Original Famous Pete's, which at that time called Famous Pete's, had such a big following. They actually opened it to steal customers from the original place. It was a huge scandal!'
Caller: 'Excuse me this is all rather interesting but....'
Me: '...now when Pete Leone, the owner of the true Famous Pete's found out that some whack-job was opening a rip off of his pizzeria...he decided that rather than go to court, he would simply rename his pizzeria to The Original Famous Pete's...and that's when the real fun started. Being so popular, and knowing that old Pete Leone didn't have a spine to go after copycats, many more opened up.'
Caller: 'Can you please stop...'
Me: 'Pete's, The Original Pete's, Honest Original Pete's, The One and Only Famous Pete's, Famous Pete's Original, Famous Peters....oh wait...that last one was actually not a restaurant at all, but instead a bar that....served a very particular clientele hahahaha.'
Caller: '...'
Me: '...anywho...all those knock off's eventually went under, except for Famous Pete's, The Original, and the Official Original...which is some newer knock off that recently popped up. It's not very good, but their garlic knots are decent.'
Caller: 'Fine, for the love of God, she ate at Famous Pete's just plain old Famous Pete's!'
Me: '...ahh see...*I take a bite of cinnamon roll and continue to talk with my mouth full*...there's your problem. Not only is it not the original, which Leone opened in 1976, but their quality is just awful...please don't tell me she ordered the senior special.'
Caller (starting to cry😞 '...I...don't...know...'
Me: 'Yeah...see those senior specials are actually made from cheap left over factory seconds from China...this is why that place never took off....'
*Click*
Me: 'Hello? Hello?'
Hmmmm... I got all the info I need. No need for a call-back.

Hazardous Structure Fire - MAYDAY MASS CASUALTY
Started by A. Tai ·
ENGINE 11, AVAILABLE EMS, HAZARDOUS STRUCTURE FIRE w/ MASS CASUALTY. Oxnard Ice Rink
Time of Day: 14:03h. Initial call at 13:25. Weather, Sunny, light wind
‘911, what is your emergency?’
‘I’m calling from the Oxnard Ice rink, the Zamboni is on fire, but he looks like he’s trying to get out.’
‘The Oxnard Ice Rink?’
‘Yes. Hurry, he’s, wait, I think he’s bailing.’
‘Okay, I need you to get out of the building, there’s fire trucks on the way, but everyone needs to get out. Can you pull the fire alarm on your way out to make sure everyone gets out?’
‘Yes. Yes!’
‘Is the Zamboni driver okay?’
‘Yeah, I think he is, but that fire is big. He’s stopped like right under the door, he almost made it out.’
*As the caller explains this, I hear the bells sound, and the first unit call their response time.*
‘Okay, make sure everyone is out of the building and stays away, the trucks are on the way right now, they’ll be there soon. Do not go back in, no matter what.’
*As Engine 15 arrives, I hear the initial size up come in.*
“ERT, can you dispatch Rescue 2 And HAZMAT 41 to this as well. The Zamboni is right underneath what looks like chemical tanks, we’re making entry and starting a line. Evacuation underway.”
“That’s affirmative sir. Copying Rescue 2 and HAZMAT 41.”
*I change the call type to HAZ fire and automatically it designates three EMS units, two ambulances and an officer. Medic 7 calls response, in additional to M22, and O-2. Shortly after arrival of Rescue 2, the radio interrupts with a two second warble. I hit acknowledge on the terminal, scribbling the portable number down on the notepad next to me. I pause for a second and then key my microphone.*
“Portable 513, ERT. Receiving Mandown alarm.”
“10-4 ERT! HAZMAT. Ammonia… Fire!. Two men down, south entrance.”
“Affirmative 513. All units clear channel for emergency traffic. Mayday activation, two fire fighters down south entrance. Ammonia fire.”
*As the incident commander, Captain of Engine 15 starts to take control over the incident, coordinating Rescue 2 to retrieve the downed firefighters, and HAZMAT 41 to get into place to deal with exposure risks, I start the dispatch procedure, initially for additional ambulances, but also on the mayday activation for the spreading chemical fire.
*Engine 11, Squad 1, RIT 1, Utility 6 with HAZMAT 42 Trailer, Logistics 1, Tact-1, Safety Officer ORV-1, EMS Tour Officer O-2, Fast Response 1 and then I start making calls to notify AMR of the incident. After hanging up with AMR, I call the Deputy chief for operations, and then logistics, in that order, an automatic notification for confirmed mayday activation, as well as logistics truck activation. It’s likely one, if not both, will respond.*
“ERT, this is Oxnard command. Emergency Traffic.”
“Go ahead Oxnard Command.”
“Activate mass casualty, we’ve got inhalation injuries, approximately 15 patients.”
“10-4 Oxnard Command, ALL UNITS, ALL UNITS, be advised, mass casualty activation underway.”
*While I notify the ERT mass casualty coordinator, who will send additional units from ERT, such as the bus I hear radio traffic from the scene indicating many are walking wounded. One good thing at least, I think to myself. I key the radio to call up Support 1, who answers, and starts response to the day station for SCFD to take the support trailer, which will be following out medic 99, a logistics support vehicle, designed to help set up a mobile field hospital if necessary, to alleviate unnecessary strain on the hospitals, as well as patients. Lastly, I send the on duty EMS units from SCFD station 1, for an additional transport, if necessary, as AMR hasn’t provided a number on responding units at this time. When all those units are in place, I radio EDO-1, who calls back, confirming response.*
DISPATCHED CALL UNITS:
NPC On scene: Engine 15, Rescue 2, HAZMAT 41, M7, M22, O-2, Oxnard PD
NPC Responding: Safety Officer, Unit 22, RIT-1, Utility 6/Hazmat42, Logistics 1, Tact-1, D-1, D-3, O-2, F-1, ERT MCI Team, EMS S-1/M22, M99, EDO-1.
